micrometer and dial gauge
A micrometer, sometimes known as a micrometer screw gauge, is a device incorporating a calibrated screw widely used for accurate measurement of components in mechanical engineering and machining as well as most mechanical trades, along with other metrological instruments such as dial, vernier, and digital calipers. Micrometers are also used in telescopes or microscopes to measure the apparent diameter of celestial bodies or microscopic objects.
Venier Caliper
A caliper is a device used to measure the distance between two opposite sides of an object. Many types of calipers permit reading out a measurement on a ruled scale, a dial, or a digital display. But a caliper can be as simple as a compass with inward or outward-facing points. The tips of the caliper are adjusted to fit across the points to be measured and then the caliper is then removed and the distance read by measuring between the tips with a measuring tool, such as a ruler. A popular refinement replaces the analog dial with an electronic digital display that displays the reading as a numeric value. It is used in many fields such as mechanical engineering, metalworking, woodworking, science and medicine.
Torque Wrench
A torque wrench is a tool used to apply a specific torque to a fastener such as a nut or bolt. It is usually in the form of a socket wrench with special internal mechanisms.
A torque wrench is used where the tightness of screws and bolts is crucial. It allows the operator to set the torque applied to the fastener so it can be matched to the specifications for a particular application. This permits proper tension and loading of all parts. A torque wrench uses torque as a proxy for bolt tension. The technique suffers from inaccuracy due to inconsistent or uncalibrated friction between the fastener and its mating hole. Measuring bolt tension (indirectly via bolt stretch) is actually what is desired, but often torque is the only practical measurement which can be made.
Microscope and profile projector for measurment
An optical comparator or profile projector is a device that applies the principles of optics to the inspection of manufactured parts. In a comparator, the magnified silhouette of a part is projected upon the screen, and the dimensions and geometry of the part are measured against prescribed limits. It is a useful item in a small parts machine shop or production line for the quality control inspection team.
The measuring happens in any of several ways. The simplest way is that graduations on the screen, being superimposed over the silhouette, allow the viewer to measure, as if a clear ruler were laid over the image. Another way is that various points on the silhouette are lined up with the reticle at the centerpoint of the screen, one after another, by moving the stage on which the part sits, and a digital read out reports how far the stage moved to reach those points. Finally, the most technologically advanced methods involve software that analyzes the image and reports measurements.
Projection methods:
Vertical projectors: The main axe is parallel to the plane of the screen. They're most common, and suitable for flat parts or smaller work-pieces.
Horizontal Projector: The main axis is perpendicular to the plane of the projection screen. They are mainly medium and large, and suitable for shaft parts or heavy work-pieces with large volume.
Work table and accessories:
Work table is used to place and hold the measured piece. Its own volume, X, Y travel and carrying capacity are critical. Meanwhile, for the convenience of holding workpiece, it will be need to buy a rotary table, V-holder and other accessories.
Besides, the projector must also have a flexible and stable focusing mechanism and large working distance (the top surface of the workpiece and the lens pitch). Select appropriate data processing mode: all optical measuring projectors on market, without exception, have been digitized. We must focus on its data processing capabilities.
Inspection hardness by rockwell hardness tester
There are two types of Rockwell tests: regular hardness test and superficial hardness test, and each of the test has 3 different major loads. Also, there are two choices of indenters: diamond indenter and the 1⁄16, 1⁄8, 1⁄4 and 1⁄2-inch diameter steel ball indenters. The Rockwell hardness tester utilizes either a steel ball or a conical diamond known as a brale and indicates hardness by determining the depth of penetration of the indenter under a known load. This depth is relative to the position under a minor initial load; the corresponding hardness number is indicated on a dial. For hardened steel, Rockwell testers with brale indenters are particularly suitable; they are widely used in metalworking plants.
